The Bagel is a Symbol of Eternity (poetry)

The Bagel is

Solitary, suspended beneath the night sky

This self-willed bread of eternity, perfect in circularity

Wonders not at the mystery of the vastness that partners it

In this late hour

For their nature is one and the same, 

A perfect mystery twin

And so the Bagel is

A joyful rebus 

Pointing beyond understanding
